Derbent can receive special status

Makhachkala, October 28, 2015. The government of Dagestan is considering an idea of granting the city of Derbent a special status of historical and cultural center, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy of the Republic Rayudin Yusufov said. Much work, indeed, has been done, to hold the celebration and festive events on the proper organizational level, the top official of the republican government noted.

The special status, according to the minister, will enable the city to preserve the development dynamics in future. It is expected that the adoption of such a law would allow Derbent to further develop and attract approx.75 million rubles.
