"Day of Mountains - Unknown and Beautiful Dagestan" cultural program presented in Moscow

Makhachkala, February 25, 2018. The cultural program "Day of Mountains - Unknown and Beautiful Dagestan" has launched yesterday in Moscow as part of the V All-Russian Nature Festival "Primordial Russia". The "Primordial Russia" is one of the largest festivals devoted to the nature of Russia. Dagestan traditionally takes part in this major event. The program was organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Dagestan under the President of the Russian Federation.

An exhibition of arts and crafts of Dagestan was opened within the framework of the "Day of Mountains". The exhibition highlighted the costumes of the peoples of republic, in particular the products of Kaitag embroidery. Besides, a photo exhibition "Unknown and beautiful Dagestan" featured by unique works of Ivan Kozorezov and Rashid Suleymanov was presented. The exhibition will last until March 10.

Among other things, the visitors were shown the traditional dance “lezginka” performed by the children's ensemble "Namus" under the leadership of Parsihat Murtuzalieva. The Honored Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Rashid Bagataev performed songs in different languages.

The festival participants were also shown documentary films and lectures about Dagestan. "The Island of Seals" and the "Agrakhan Wildlife Sanctuary" by Mikhail Rodionov, as well as the lectures on the unique flora and fauna of Dagestan among them. At the same time, the photographers Ivan Kozorezov, Rashid Suleymanov, Dmitry Moseikin, Murad Hamidov shared the features of photography in the mountains of the republic.

The representative of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Dagestan Muslim Khalimbekov told about the tourist and recreational potential of the region. Rashid Hajiyasulov, the first Dagestani who climbed Mount Everest, told the guests about mountaineering.
