Makhachkala, October 27, 2014. Activists of the project "For village development!", the winner of the North Caucasus youth forum "Mashuk - 2014", are trying to help local farmers sell their products.

Project author Taimaz Aslanov says the volunteers under the project have negotiated over 50 agreements on assisting small farms in selling their products through chain stores.
"Currently, the level of agricultural production in our republic is far lower than it used to be. That’s what Daghestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov would reiterate. He’s even declared 2015 to be the year of gardening in Daghestan, and he urged the population to help revive the industry. Volunteers under our project, as well as the republican authorities, seek to raise the level of agricultural development in Daghestan. So, we decided to start with small private farms and help them sell their products," Aslanov said.

The project involves experts like economists, accountants and even marketers. The volunteers went to Magaramkent, Kizlyar and Babayurt regions to gather rural youth. At the meetings, they explained to the locals how it is critical to do farming on their native land.

Young people were mostly interested in lending options for agricultural producers. They are often raised the problem of production distribution. That's why the volunteers decided to serve as a kind of intermediaries between small farmers and stores that could sell their products. They also told the farmers about effective relevant ideas for advertising their products.
