Makhachkala, March 17, 2014. Daghestani tourism committee took part in the official opening ceremony of the 9th "Intourmarket-2014" international tourism exhibition held at the "Crocus Expo" exhibition hall in Moscow yesterday, a source in the committee told RIA "Daghestan".

The exhibition has been organized by "Expotour" LLC with the official support of the Russian government, the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Federal Tourism Agency, the Moscow Committee on Tourism and Hotel Business, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Russian Tour Operators Association, and the Russian Travel Industry Union. The opening ceremony was attended by the chairman of Daghestani tourism committee Magomed Issayev, his deputy Vitaly Demchenko, his advisor Natalia Belamerzaeva, and the deputy Daghestan Permanent Representative at the Russian President Vali-Magomed Magataev.

Countries, traditionally the most popular among and Russian tourists, again showed their interest to the exhibition. The exhibit featured exposures of Bulgaria, Turkey, China, Egypt, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, the Baltic States, Morocco, Tunisia and many other states annually attracting a large number of visitors by their colourful stands, novelties of the summer tourist season, performing artists, and tastings the national cuisine. As part of the year of CIS countries, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan presented their stands. It is the 1st time the Maldives and Australia have participated in the exhibition.

The Russian regional stands are again amazing with their scope and beauty. Absolutely all Russian regions exposed their most interesting tourist routes, historical and natural attractions, museums, arts and crafts, etc. On a stand of about 100 m2, Daghestani tourism committee made a presentation of Daghestan’s tourist and recreational potential. The designers laid the emphasis of the exposure on the Naryn-Kala fortress anticipating the 2000th anniversary of Derbent in 2015.

Daghestan stand was visited by Head of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai, Minister of Tourism of Egypt Hisham Zazu, Head of the Russian Tourism Committee Alexander Radkov, Altai Territory Governor Alexander Karlin, and the head of the Moscow tourism committee and the chairman of the Russian Travel Industry Union Sergei Spilko.
The "Intourmarket-2014" spring exhibition will run 10 am - 18 pm every day until Tuesday, 18 March (till 4pm on March 18) at the #1 Pavilion of the "Crocus Expo" exhibition complex.
