Makhachkala, September 17 /RIA "Dagestan"/ Daghestani Mufti Sheikh Akhmad-Hajji Abdullayev has been included on the World Union of Muslim Scholars, said Union’s Secretary General Sheikh Dr. Ali Mukhiddin al-Karadagi.
August 20-22, the World Union of Muslim Scholars was having the 4th assembly in Istanbul. Here, Russia was represented by the spiritual boards of Daghestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Tatarstan, Chechnya, and other regions. 24 Russian delegates were awarded membership certificates increasing the Russian representation in the union up to 40 members.
The Russian delegation's visit was made possible by the missioner and coordinator of the World Union of Muslim Scholars in Russia and the CIS, Doctor Luhai Youssef who had done a great job to prepare the visit and participation of Russia’s religious leaders in the assembly.
Dr. Youssef in an interview with Islam News agency pointed out the significance of this event in strengthening Russia's relations with the Islamic world.
