Daghestan poetry session takes place in Moscow

Makhachkala, April 29, 2014. On April 26, Daghestan poetry session was held at the Moscow House of Nationalities at the initiative of the "Daghestan" Cultural Centre, the Daghestan Ministry of Press and Information told RIA "Daghestan".

Honoured Artist of Russia and People's Artist of Daghestan Faina Grafchenko performed at the session. The audience applauded to poems by Makhmoud of Kakhab-Rosso, Omarla Batyrai, Rasul Gamzatov, Suleiman Rabadanov, Kadria, Yussupa Happalaev, Miyasat Muslimova, certainly, to the performance talent of Faina Grafchenko, the translator talent of her husband Stanislav Sushchevsky, and the people who have devoted their entire lives to Daghestan.

Once and forever fascinated by Rasul Gamzatov’s "My Daghestan", Faina Grafchenko arrived in Makhachkala with her family, and for all these years, she has shown the unity of Russia and the Caucasus, Russian and Daghestani peoples by her biography and her work.

Passionately in love with the Word, irreconcilable to hypocrisy and indifference, concerned about the fate of culture and youth, all her life Faina Grafchenko has been working with young people inspiring them love for their soil, their homeland and spirituality.
