Makhachkala, July 2, 2018. Dagestanis can submit applications to the main volunteer contest "Volunteer Russia - 2018" to be held August 15, the press service of the Youth Affairs Ministry of the Republic of Dagestan informs.

Any volunteer 8 years or elder can become the contest participant. The competition will be held in 13 categories: environmental, medical, patriotic volunteerism, volunteer-rescuers, volunteer organizers and others.

The finalists will be judged both by expert and popular vote. The best volunteers will be announced on December 5 at the All-Russian Volunteers’ Forum. The winners will receive grants to implement their projects in the amount of up to 1 million rubles. The laureates will be granted with up to 250 thousand rubles.

The Council chairman of the Association of Volunteer Centers Artem Metelev noted the high interest to the competition this year. "We received a large number of applications from regions, organizations and volunteers involved in holding the World Cup, with a request to renew the registration".

Recall, the contest is held in Russia for the eighth time already. Last year it was attended by 1600 people. At the moment, more than 6 thousand projects have been submitted from all over the country, 3700 have been preliminary moderated.
