Dagestani scientists take part in International Scientific Conference in Moscow

Makhachkala, November 27, 2014. About 20 Dagestani scientists take part in major international scientific conference "Historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of Eurasia", which takes place in Moscow on November 24-28, the press service of the Social organizations "El Bars" reports.

The conference has been initiated and organized by the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Karachay-Cherkessia State University named after U.D. Aliyev, Karachay-Balkar Scientific Center for Humanities Research, with the assistance and support of the public authorities of Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Balkar Interregional public organization promoting the conservation and development of the Karachai-Balkar traditions "Bars El."

It is reported that the event, attended by more than 300 scientists from 16 countries has no analogues and is held for the first time. Since November 24, the leading anthropologists, linguists, archaeologists, anthropologists, art historians, literary critics, folklorists, who had gained international recognition, are discussing the history, culture and the origins of the Russian people living in the two republics - Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria.

According to organizers, the conference brought together not only scientists from the CIS countries, but also from Europe, USA, and Middle East. This is a particularly important indicator, despite the attempts to isolate Russia economically, politically and culturally during the crisis in interstate relations.

The conference intends to confront increasing attempts to falsify the history of the peoples of Russia, their relationships with each other, to undermine the ideological and moral values, as well as to use names of famous Russian and foreign scientists for promoting nationalistic and chauvinistic views on history, culture and life of the peoples.

Tomorrow, on November28, the final plenary session will be held. Moderators of the roundtable will sum up, then, participants will adopt a resolution. On Friday evening, a gala concert and banquet will complete a conference.

In the future, the organizers will hold a similar scientific sessions devoted to other nations.
