Dagestan to meet India-Russia Friendship Motor Rally

Makhachkala, April 26, 2018. On May 7, the Ministry of Tourism and Folk Art of the Republic of Dagestan will take part in the India-Russia Friendship Motor Rally, the ministry’s department official informs.

The rally is timed to the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India. The rally participants will visit Dagestani capital within the framework of the second stage of the rally, which starts on April 29. Fr om India, the cars will be delivered by sea to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, from wh ere the crews will have to cover thousands of kilometers along the roads of Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia.

The rally finishes on May 12 in Moscow.  The organizer of the event is Kalinga Motor Sports Club. In total the crew will overcome 5000 kilometers on the cars produced by Indian manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra.

In Derbent the tourist center "Derbent-2000" organizes a tour for 45 participants of the motor rally across the Naryn-Kala Citadel, the local Juma-Mosque and the city’s museum complex "Peter I's House in Derbent". On the same day, Makhachkala will meet the participants of the rally with incendiary dances, national dishes and famous Dagestan hospitality.

According to Maxim Stepanov, the project coordinator across the Republic of Dagestan, the motor rally will promote Dagestan as the territory attractive for tourism and contribute to further development of relations in various spheres of public life.
