Makhachkala, July 3, 2018. The festival of mountain tea will be held in August in Gunibsky district, the event organizer, the director of the memorial complex "Vatan" Gamzat Omarov told. The event is held in the republic for the second time.

According to Omarov, 500-600 guests are expected to attend the fest this year. "The event will take place near the village of Sogratl on the territory of the memorial complex" Vatan ". We will provide the guests with free tea. The other meals and national dishes will be available at reasonable prices. This year we will not hold a tea drinking competition. Last time there were a lot of participants and it was not possible to hold a contest in due way. The other competitions in national sports (crossbow shooting, etc) will be organized instead. Besides, we will also prepare a saturated concert program"- Omarov shared.

The fest organizers negotiate with the Ministry of Tourism and Folk Art Fisheries of the Republic of Dagestan to organize the arrival of delegations fr om other regions of Russia to the festival.

"At the festival we will present tea from mountain herbs (St. John's wort, mint, etc.) collected by me and my students. I am a teacher of social studies and history. The schoolchildren, graduates and students take part in picking up the herbs. I also plan to discuss the cooperation issues with the representatives of Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, wh ere there are herb collection producers. If some tea companies want to take part, then there are no problems, we will grant them the place to come and present their products"- Omarov added.

It should be noted that the first Mountain Tea Festival was held in Dagestan in 2016. Then, about 1,000 people took part in the event, among them representatives of other subjects and countries.
