Dagestan State University of National Economy students trained in Russian State Duma

Moscow, March 5, 2015. A group of undergraduate students fr om Dagestan State National Economy University’s law faculty had training in the State Duma of the Russian Federation’s Federal Assembly, the press service of the university told RIA Dagestan.

"The training aims at giving the law students practical skills and knowledge they will need as highly qualified specialists in their area. To be enrolled for the training is undoubted success. They understand perfectly well that this training is a real opportunity to try their hand and catch a bus to a bright future," the source said.

During the internship, students learned about the structure and the general work done by the State Duma, its committees, and head and regional offices of political parties represented in the Duma. They studied legal documents governing the legislation, gained experience of working with draft law bills, and attended meetings of various Duma committees and factions, parliamentary hearings wh ere they were able to further explore their structure and the system of interaction with other departments.

While working in the committees, the students acquired skills in dealing with electronic databases including the ones on information and legal resources, in particular "Intranet", the System of Automated Workflow and Document Management, and the Automated System for Ensuring Legislative Activity. The trainees also had a chance to meet with leaders of political parties represented in the State Duma - Vladimir Zhirinovsky (LDPR), Gennady Zyuganov (the Communist party), and other deputies and in person ask them questions on the most pressing issues of international and domestic policy.
