Makhachkala, March 12, 2015. Yesterday students of the DSTU faculty of computer technology and energy headed by head of the department of applied mathematics and informatics Tamila Issabekova organized a blood donation campaign at Dagestan Blood Transfusion Station, a source in the university told RIA Dagestan.

Blood donation is everybody’s mission now that a lot of people in treatment need blood so much. DSTU students have been active participants in the donor movement because they completely understand the importance and value of such-like campaigns.

Experts of Dagestan Blood Transfusion Station say that in recent years, they’ve observed a critical situation about collecting donor blood and transferring it to health care facilities in Dagestan and all around Russia. Over the past ten years, the number of donors has dramatically dropped - from 4 to 1.7 million people in the whole country.

They say here that voluntary donation is a good opportunity to help patients in need of blood and its components, “We’ve enjoyed a corporate partnership with DSTU for quite long; donors here are very activity. Every year they arrange blood donation campaigns with 500 students participating”.
