Makhachkala, February 23, 2018. According to the press service of DSMU, another meeting with foreign colleagues - this time with the representatives of the Republic of Cuba – has taken place February 22 in the administrative building of the educational institution.

The rector of DSMU Suleyman Mammayev accepted the foreign colleagues - Gerardo Barrera Plano, the director for International Development of SMC Russia and Philippe Barrera Plano the company director general.

Dr. Gerardo Barrera Plano - Cuban neurosurgeon doctor, MD, director for international development of the SMC RUSSIA shared his impressions about his first visit to Dagestan. “I was interested to see your republic, but there was no time for it. I was told that you have more than 40 nationalities, and each has its own language. Today we visited the scientific library and the museum of history of DSMU”.

In the course of the meeting, an Agreement on cooperation between DSMU and SMC Russia was signed. The document provides for further familiarization with the university and the implementation of the scheduled programs to develop academic, scientific and cultural ties between the two organizations. All this, according to the Agreement, aims at the promotion of common goals in the fields of education, science and public health; the establishment of specific forms of cooperation in educational, scientific, clinical and any other fields of interest; the development of international cooperation, friendship and strengthening the health of the peoples of two countries.

After the agreement signing ceremony, the meeting participants proceeded to the meeting room of the Academic Council of DSMU, where Gerardo Barrera Plano presented the most promising directions for the development of international cooperation between DSMU and SMC Russia to the employees of the University.
