Dagestan Gadzhimurad Akhmedov "conquers" Elbrus on motorcycle

Makhachkala, March 1, 2020. The FMX rider Gadzhimurad Akhmedov set a Russian record for high-speed motorcycle ascent to the mount Elbrus. The record was set and recorded on February 27.

“The start of my journey was given in the glade of Azau, that is, at the foot of Elbrus. I finished at the highest point of the cable lift of Garabashi station. The total distance traveled amounted to almost 7 km. I am very glad that I was the first in Russia to set a record” - Akhmedov is quoted saying.

According to Akhmedov, it took him two months to prepare. He was able to realize his idea with the support of the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov. “We can say that the preparations for this event were underway from the new year till February 27. I managed to bring the project to life with the full support of the Head of Chechnya, Ramzan Akhmatovich, for which I would like to thank him” - Akhmedov added.

Gadzhimurad Akhmedov also plans to jump over a moving train and into the Sulak canyon with a parachute, having dispersed on a motorcycle.
