Makhachkala, August 29, 2020. The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation published data for 2019 on the number of people systematically involved in physical culture and sports in the regions. According to the department, over 1.4 million people are engaged in physical culture and sports in Dagestan. This is the ninth indicator among the regions of the country and the best in the North Caucasian Federal District. The leaders in terms of this indicator are Moscow, the Moscow Region and the Krasnodar Territory.
