The heads of executive bodies, deputies, law enforcement officers and members of the Anti-Terrorist Committee discussed countering terrorism and extremism in the youth environment. The head of Information Policy Department of the republican Ministry of Press and Mass Communications Murad Muradkhanov reported on the spread of extremist ideas among the youth.

Furthermore, the religion is used as a tool to involve the new members in the ranks of extremists. In the fight against the ideology of extremism, the emphasis should be made on the interaction with the clergy - Muradkhanov said.

According to the director of Dagestan Information and Cultural Centre Muhtar Amirov, the public and religious organizations are not active in submitting applications for participation in the competition for grants allocated for the preventive measures.

The top officials of the republican government noted that the meeting was another link in the development of strategy of ideological and information counteraction to extremism and terrorism among the youth in Dagestan.
