Dagestan Committee Religious Affairs Committee accepts Mufti of Republic of Belarus

Makhachkala, June 1, 2015. The day before, the republican Committee on Freedom of Conscience, Cooperation with Religious Organizations of Dagestan hosted a meeting with the Chairman of the Muslim Religious Association of the Republic of Belarus, Mufti Abu-Bekir Shabanovich, the Committee press service informs.
Welcoming the Mufti, the Committee Chairman Suleiman Magomedov underlined the importance of the long-standing cooperation with Abu Bekir and joint participation at various forums and newsgroups of both nationwide and international significance, and expressed gratitude for his first visit to the Republic of Dagestan.

Then Magomedov spoke briefly about the history of formation of the Committee, noting the most important events organized and conducted by the Committee officials.

The Mufti of the Republic of Belarus Abu Bekir Shabanovich in reply, greeted the entire staff of the committee and thanked them for the invitation. He spoke about his vision of the current international situation in the Islamic world and the Tatar diaspora in Belarus. Besides, Belarusian mufti told about what kind of work is being done within the Muslim community in Belarus, as well as with government bodies and public organizations of the country.

Abu Bekir Shabanovich praised the role of Dagestani leadership, Ramazan Abdulatipov in particular and the Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Ahmad Haji Abdulaev in promoting peace and stability in the society and creating conditions for the development and spread of religion. "This is an unprecedented case in which the public authorities allocate more than 20 hectares of land for the construction of a spiritual center and a mosque. This is not even in Islamic countries! "- Said the mufti of Belarus.

After the official part of the working meeting, a friendly chat at tea took place. The Committee Chairman and Belarusian mufti exchanged gifts. The receiving party officially invited the guest from the Republic of Belarus to participate in the International Youth interfaith forum held in the second time in Dagestan in August 2015.
