Concept of engineering education modernization discussed at Industrialists and Entrepreneurs’ Forum

Makhachkala, March 30, 2016. The discussion session entitled "Engineering education modernization. Tasks. Mechanisms. Results" took place in Dagestan State Technical University within the framework of the Second Republican Forum of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs "Engineering modernization – the basis for the new economy", the university’s press-service reports.

The event brought together the chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises, Ivan Bortnik and the representatives of Dagestan university communities and enterprises. The rector of DSTU Tagir Ismailov moderated the meeting. From the very beginning, Ismailov pointed out the problem areas in research and education process of preparing engineering specialists, the interaction with databases of practices and the issues related to the employment of graduates of technical specialties. The Forum attendees also discussed the positive dynamics registered in the sphere of engineers’ training in the republic.

Ivan Bortnik urged to actively participate in federal programs, to use the resources that could assist to the development of science and innovation business in the region: "In the world, people understand that the scientific and technological, innovative entrepreneurship is a risky business. We have been simulating this sphere in our country for more than 20 years, realizing that there is no development without engineers."

Bortnik also called to use all known methods of intellectual property protection, thus increasing the potential of the patent, which could always be converted into real products and profit in the high technology manufacturing market. In conclusion, Bortnik mentioned the results of cooperation with DSTU and encouraged to develop it further.
