Makhachkala, June 22, 2017. A choir of five thousand people sang songs of the war years - "Holy War", "Cranes" and "Victory Day" today, on the Russia’s Day of Remembrance and Mourning on the University Square of Makhachkala. Dagestan leader Ramazan Abdulatipov, the chairman of the republican parliament Hizri Shikhsaidov, the Prime Minister Abdusamad Gamidov, the heads of ministries, the deputies, the students and townspeople took part in the action.

The soloists of Dagestan State Philharmonic Society and the representatives of the national theaters of Dagestan and other creative groups have participated in the choral singing, the press service of the Makhachkala Mayor’s Office informs. The large-scale event organized on the initiative of the head of Dagestan started with the song "Holy War" and ended with the song "Victory Day".
