Blog tour series "Safe Caucasus" to be held in North Caucasus Federal District

Makhachkala, July 23, 2014. The Russian emergencies ministry’s North Caucasus regional center plans to hold a series of blog tours on human life safety in several NCFD regions with the support of kavinfo.ru. The ‘Safe Caucasus’ aims at providing interaction between the emergencies ministry’s information departments, the blogger communities and media in shaping a high-level safety culture in the NCFD.

Bloggers, as citizens with an active lifestyle in the information environment, can help the emergencies ministry in preventing emergencies, so they need to be taught the basics of safe living. To this end, the Russian emergencies ministry’s NCFD office and kavinfo.ru decided to launch the project named ‘Safe Caucasus’ which involves a series of blog tours in NCFD regions. During the event, the reporters will have an emergency course which can be useful in real life. They will learn how to work in an emergency zone, how to apply first aid, rescue drowners, render search and rescue operations in the high altitude, etc.

The first stages of the ‘Safe Caucasus’ are going to be held in Makhachkala and Stavropol. Dagestani bloggers will be able to learn rescuing drowners, play rescuers, learn to apply first aid to the drowners, etc. They’ll also take part in the raid of the state inspectorate for small vessels of the General Board of the Russian emergencies ministry in Daghestan. In Stavropol, bloggers will play switchboard operators of the Crisis Management Center of the General Board of the Russian emergencies ministry in Stavropol region. They will learn the regulations for data receipt and processing and the basics of psychology while working with victims.
