On October 25, the meeting of the bishop Varlaam of Makhachkala and Grozny with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia took place in the Patriarch's residence situated in Chisty pereulok in Moscow.
During the sitting, the parties discussed the topical issues related to the church life and the church-state interaction of Makhachkala diocese, uniting the Orthodox parishes in Dagestan, Ingushetia and Chechnya.

In particular, the clericals negotiated about the construction of Makhachkala cathedral and the opening of the temple in Naur village.
