"Beautiful Women’s Names" exhibition opens in Akushinsky district of Dagestan

Makhachkala, March 5, 2020. The local lore museum of Akushinsky municipal district which is the branch of the National Museum of Dagestan named after A. Tahoe-Godi, hosts "Beautiful Women’s Names" exhibition dedicated to International Women's Day.

The exhibition features portraits of women – the representatives of various professions who left a noticeable mark in the life of the municipality and the republic. The official opening ceremony was attended by cultural workers, students of Akushinsky secondary school No. 1 and the villagers.

The director of the museum, Zubalzhat Mirzaeva, spoke about the life journey of residents of Akushinsky district – the rear workers who took part in the construction of defensive structures during the Great Patriotic War. In particular Mirzaeva told about the Heroes of Socialist Labor Khamis Kazieva, Khamis Kambaymagomedova, Gapsat Abasova and the other outstading local women.

The head of the municipal central library system Dzhamilya Abdullaeva, supplemented the narrative with the life story of Haluml Aishat, one of the heroines of the project “Women’s face of Victory” by the district women's council. The exhibition will last till  April 11th.
