Makhachkala, October 20, 2017. It is past time to rehabilitate the Altauskoye lake in Dagestan, experts say. According to the press service of the republican Ministry of Natural Resources, the main source of water supply is the channel of the October Revolution. But because of heavy pollution, the supply of water to the lake had practically stopped.

- The preparation of documents for the work on clearing and rehabilitation of Altauskoye lake located in Kumtorkalinsky district of the Republic of Dagestan has already begun, the press service of the Ministry reports. – For the present time, the set of documents is under consideration in the government of Dagestan.

The lake itself is located in the southern part of the Prisulak lowland. Its area is about 800 hectares. The reservoir is diverse both in physics-geographical and hydrochemical parameters.
