5-star hotel and tourist complex to be built in Daghestan

Makhachkala, July 15, 2014. On July 14, at Makhachkala House of Friendship, they presented a project of building a 5-star hotel and tourist complex "Sarir" in Dahgestan, informed the press service of Daghestani Head and government’s administration. To this end, a Turkish delegation of potential investors, managers and experts working in many foreign countries in hotel and tourism business arrived in Daghestan.

At the end held presentation, the Turks said they wanted to visit Daghestan, and then submit their cooperation proposals for developing hotel and tourism business to Daghestan government. Daghestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov commented:

 "Daghestan and Turkey are close countries, close nations, we have known each other for so long. Russia and Turkey enjoy very good relations, too, so do the countries’ leaders. It should be noted that we have the full legal framework for cooperation. So, we should actively expand our economic and cultural relations."

During a year, experts, architects and cooperation initiators visited Daghestan for a marketing research to implement the project and choose a construction site for the hotel. The coastal area from Makhachkala to Kaspiysk was considered. The investors carefully studied the region and saw great opportunities in tourism development reviewing a large number of projects.

To date, the Turks have developed a master plan, a concept of the architectural project, a control system for the time the project is implemented and put into operation, a concept of training the technical personnel to work in the hotel, and suggestions for financial support for the project.

The hotel and tourist complex "Sarir" is a 250 room hotel, a conference center for 2,000 and a balneology facility for 150 patients a day. They also envisage building a golf course with 18 international level halls. $ 104 million is a total investment cost, plus loans are possible. The payback period is estimated to be 7 years and 9 months. They plan to start the construction in September, 2014, to be opened June, 2016. The project will employ 285, the specialists will be trained both in Daghestan and Turkey in 4 five-star hotels.
