Grozny, January 20, 2015. About 100,000 Dagestanis took part in a rally against cartoons on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) held today in Grozny, Chechen Republic. The rally assembled more than a million believers from all over Russia, even representatives of other faiths, condemning the cartoons on the Prophet.

In the main part of the meeting, Chechnya’s head Ramzan Kadyrov and Chairman of the Russian Mufti Council Ravil Gaynutdin criticized the spiritual state of the Western world and urged to stop issuing cartoons on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The day of the meeting was declared a day off in Chechnya.
Initially, they planned to bring 500,000 people onto the streets of Grozny, Kadyrov posted on Instagram that the number of participants may exceed one million. All the demonstrators responded to Kadyrov’s appeal "to come to Grozny and join the ranks of those who will rebuff attempts to incite discord among religions and peoples of the world."

Previously, the Chechen head announced that he considers as his personal enemies all those who support the "right" of the French weekly Charlie Hebdo and other media to offend religious feelings and of a billion and a half Muslims.
