Moscow, April 22, 2015. The working group for industrial production development in the North Caucasus Federal District under the Government Commission on socio-economic development of the North Caucasus Federal District had a meeting chaired by Russian Minister of North Caucasus Affairs Lev Kuznetsov.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Georgiy Kalamanov, Deputy Russian Minister of North Caucasus Affairs Andrei Reznikov, Deputy Presidential Envoy in the North Caucasian Federal District Sergei Mileiko, Ingushetia head Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, officials from the Russian Ministres of Industry and Trade, Economic Development, Energy, Labour, North Caucasus Affairs, other executive bodies NCFD regions and representatives of major national companies, non-profit organizations, the Agency of Strategic Initiatives, and the Industrial Development Foundation.

The parties considered some anchor and priority investment projects planned to be implemented in the North Caucasus Federal District; projects prospective for import substitution and development of metallurgical, machine-building, chemical and technological sectors, production of electronics, machinery and equipment for food industry and agricultural machinery, light industry, pharmaceutical and medical industry, and shipbuilding.

The participants also discussed development prospects in oil refining and gas and oil chemistry in the North Caucasus Federal District and creating territorial development zones as part of implementing the federal law "On territorial development zones in the Russian Federation and Amendments to Specific Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation".
