Makhachkala, July 25, 2014. Daghestan Prime Minister Abdussamad Gamidov chaired a governmental meeting to discuss 2 issues:

 "On the state of folk arts and crafts in Daghestan and measures to develop them" and "On logistical support of medical organizations in Daghestan", reports the press service of Daghestan Head and government’s administration.

On the first issue, deputy minister of industry, transport and energy Gussein Akhmedov said that currently, in Daghestan there are more than 20 companies and over 500 individual entrepreneurs manufacturing folk crafts items. 2,550 people are employed in this sector. The volume of folk arts and crafts items produced in 2013 rose by 14.1% and amounted to more than RUB 1 billion which is the first place among Russian regions. Abdussamad Gamidov said it was critical to support folk arts and crafts in Daghestan and gave a number of instructions to relevant officials.

On the logistics issue, minister of health Tanka Ibragimov reported that over the past 5 years, they have built and put into operation 179 standard healthcare facilities: 20 hospitals, 2 maternity homes, 5 policlinics, 2 outpatient clinics, and 154 obstetric stations.

"The health modernization program for 2011-2013 has helped us significantly strengthen the logistical base of medical institutions. 2,691 medical equipment items and sanitation vehicles have been supplied and 50 medical organizations have been renovated (116,000 square meters in total). The number of people leaving Daghestan for a diagnostic aid has decreased.

Daghestan Prime Minister gave a number of comments and instructions to relevant executives and appealed to the health ministry and Daghestan compulsory medical insurance fund for a closer cooperation in making order in medical institutions.
