According to Alexander Nesterov, the first deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services of Dagestan, the region received federal support for the construction of sewage treatment facilities for Makhachkala-Kaspiysk agglomeration.

The developed concept of sewage treatment plants for Makhachkala and Kaspiysk implies seven stages of construction worth 21,8 billion rubles.
The funds allocated will increase the total capacity of the main sewage pumping station No. 6 in Makhachkala, reconstruct the sewage pumping station and pressure headers in Kaspiysk, as well as the deep-water outlet into the sea from the sewage treatment plants.

The application for construction of Makhachkala's 47 km sewage network is supported by the National Welfare Foundation. The funding of construction of sewage treatment facilities in the town of Kaspiysk is planned by obtaining an infrastructure budget loan.
