According to some bloggers and media, Turkey suffers deep crisis in the tourism industry. The owners put up for sale more than 1,300 hotels. The economic downturn occurred because of reduction of tourists from Russia amid the strengthening of terrorist threat.

This led to the fact that hoteliers massively put up their hotels for auction. The tourism sector in Turkey is experiencing one of the most difficult periods in the history of the country. The depth of the crisis exacerbated the sanctions imposed by Russia after the collapse of the Russian military aircraft shot down by the Turkish Air Force.

The total cost of hotels for sale in Turkey now amounts to more than ten billion dollars.
