Makhachkala, July 16, 2014. On July 15, Daghestan Deputy Prime Minister Sharip Sharipov met with representatives of the Spanish company «Protevi La Manche», the press service of Daghestani Head and government’s administration informed RIA "Daghestan".

«Protevi La Manche» specializes in making greenhouses. It is a company of extensive experience and strong traditions in implementing major projects throughout the world (Bulgaria, Turkey, other Eastern European countries, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan).

On behalf of Daghestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov, Sharip Sharipov welcomed the guests and told them about agro-industrial development in Daghestan.
"Agriculture is a basis to Daghestan economy; its development greatly affects the overall socio-economic well-being of the republic. Daghestan has great potential in this sector, in a number of areas, we are the leading players in the Russian food market today. Within the priority Daghestan development projects "Effective agriculture", we have identified points of growth including greenhouse production, intensive horticulture, viticulture and a number of other areas. We are also taking the first steps in nursery farming. I think that in many areas, we can develop mutually beneficial cooperation," Sharipov noted.

«Protevi La Manche» President Juan Bonegos thanked the deputy prime minister for the warm welcome and pointed out Daghestan’s high agricultural potential. "Spain is a country of highly developed greenhouses. We are interested in assisting Daghestan in this sector, particularly in constructing and developing greenhouses and nurseries. In the near future, we plan to explore the region. We have a finished project for building a tunnel greenhouse of 3 hectares implying maintenance of the complex – specialists from Spain will work on this greenhouse for a year, and we, in turn, will send experts from Daghestan to Spain to be trained," Juan Bonegos commented.
