Makhachkala, July 3, 2014. Today, Russian Presidential Envoy Sergey Malikov visited the Kaspiysk float glass plant in Tube village, Kumtorkali region, during his trip to Daghestan. Malikov was accompanied by Daghestan Prime Minister Abdussamad Gamidov, the envoy’s chief federal inspector in Daghestan Vasily Kolesnikov, deputy chief of Daghestani Head and government’s administration Arthur Israpilov, and other officials.

Plant’s CEO Abakar Mudunov briefed on the plant’s production capacity and history. He said that the Kaspiysk float glass plant is a large-scale investment project which included building an industrial enterprise applying the most advanced technology of the glass industry to produce 600 tons of flat glass per day. The plant will produce both body-tinted glass and reflective glass. In 2010, Daghestan government assigned the priority status to the investment projects, and in January 2012, the active construction phase started. To date, the plant has been already put into operation.

Melikov inspected the plant’s facilities: the concrete-batching plant, the office buildings of the customer company and the general contractor, the hostel for 250, the furnace building, the float bath building, the annealing and cutting lines furnace, the finished products warehouse, the batch room, the raw materials unloading room, the broken glass warehouse, etc.

Finally, Abakar Mudunov noted that the plant was having a few problems, including gas supply. In response, Melikov gave an instruction to prepare a list of the plant’s problems and submit it to his mission in Pyatigorsk.
