Makhachkala, September 24 /Press Service of the Daghestan head and government’s administration/ Russian President’s envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District Sergei Melikov arrived in Daghestan for a 2-day working visit. Daghestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov met him at the airport, and the authorities started for Derbent. Here, the envoy intends to see the sights of the Russia’s oldest city – visit the "Naryn-Kala" citadel and explore the old part of the city with its Friday Mosque, Mamedbekov St., and seafront.

For 2015, they are planning large-scale celebrations of Derbent’s 2,000th anniversary. In this regard, Sergei Melikov and Ramazan Abdulatipov will chair a meeting on "Preparations for celebrating the 2,000th of the Derbent city".

Sergei Melikov is also expected to attend today’s meeting of the Daghestan Antiterrorist Commission and have a talk with Head of the Russian Federal Security Service’s Daghestan office Alexander Mironov and Daghestan Minister of Internal Affairs Abdurashid Magomedov.
