Makhachkala, March 20, 2015. The Head of the Republic of Dagestan Ramazan Abdullatipov has attended the first meeting of the working group of State Council of the Russian Federation on the development of domestic tourist-recreational and sanatorium-resort complexes.

In his opening remark, the Assistant to the President of Russia, the State Council Secretary Igor Levitin noted the importance of the theme of the upcoming debate and presented the head of the working group – the governor of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov.

"We would like to see the Crimea on the leading positions in development of tourist-recreational and sanatorium-resort complexes in Russia. This will help to quickly adapt Crimea to the country’s regulatory framework"- Igor Levitin expressed confidence.

In turn, Sergei Aksenov outlined the main tasks of the work, noting that the working group "includes not only the experts in the field of tourism, but also in other important areas."

For his part, the Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdullatipov commenting the speech voiced, pointed out the need to approach more substantively to the definition of topics on the agenda.

"Here we see the two big questions: sanatorium-resort and tourist-recreational complex. And if we try to solve them simultaneously, neither one nor the other work fundamentally. These are very separate issues. It seems to me that the theme of sanatorium-resort treatment is more actual for the discussion, both in terms of legislation and in terms of basis we possess. In Dagestan, this sphere is unique, as nowhere else in the world. Almost every single resort proposes wonderful medical and diagnostic possibilities. It is necessary to fix what was left after the Soviet Union and to develop everything in accordance with modern standards"- R.Abdulatipov expressed opinion.

R.Abdulatipov also recalled that in 2010 the Government of the Russian Federation adopted a resolution "On creation of tourism cluster in the North Caucasian Federal District, Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea", according to which a special economic zone for tourism and recreation was expected to appear in Dagestan.

Besides, the Head of the Republic stressed the importance of effective use of the vast medical, tourism and recreation potential of the republic. "We need to arrange things in such a way to reroute the financial means of our compatriots from foreign resorts to domestic ones" - R.Abdulatipov resumed.
