Ramazan Abdulatipov: "The national press should become the spirit of the peoples of Dagestan"

Makhachkala, December 18, 2014. "The national press should become the spirit of the peoples of Dagestan" – Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov suggested at the regular meeting with the chief editors of national newspapers today December 18. The first deputy head of governmental presidential Alexei Gasanov, the head of the press service of Dagestani Head and the Government RD Tamara Chinenaya, the Minister of Press and Information RD Aznaur Adzhiev and others attended the event.

Opening the meeting, the head of the republic in particular noted: "I had long intended the meeting with you but, unfortunately, for some objective reasons the meeting was several times postponed.  I pay much attention to the newspapers and magazines published in the languages of the peoples of Dagestan".

According to Abdulatipov, it is very important for the republic to develop print media in national languages. In particular, Dagestani leader suggested using the enormous potential of municipal newspapers. Abdulatipov also drew attention to the importance of holding cultural events in the republic. "The national press must be active in promotion of national culture and traditions. It is necessary to awake readers’ interest in new interesting headings and sections".

The Head of the republic pointed out that the current high rate of development of the republic demands simultaneous qualitative development of media.
