Ramazan Abdulatipov meets with "RusHydro"JSC

Makhachkala, June 19, 2014. On June 18, Daghestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov met with deputy CEOs of "RusHydro" JSC’s Vladimir Tokarev and Rakhmetulla Alzhanov, and CEO of "Sulak Hydrocascade" JSC Nurmagomed Aliyev to discuss building of the Gotsatl HPP waiting to be commissioned later in the year, a source in the press service of the Daghestan head and government administration reported RIA" Daghestan".

Since January 2007, the Gotsatl HPP has been being built on Avar Koisu river, in the vicinity of Chalda village, Gergebil region, The HPP’s projected capacity is 100 MW, the average power output is 350 million kW/h per year. The HPP facilities include a soil pebble dam 68 m high, a coastal type powerhouse with 2 hydraulic units, a power canal, a service spillway, and a tail-water channel.

The construction was organized by "Sulak Hydrocascade" – a 100% subsidiary of "RusHydro" JSC. On commissioning, the Gotsatl hydroelectric power will be the 4th in capacity power plant in Daghestan. It will help significantly reduce electricity shortage in Daghestan in the winter time.

Currently, the Gotsatl HPP is 78% ready. The main hydraulic unit’s equipment has been assembled, the #2 hydraulic unit’s rotor has been installed, the rotor rim has been hot-gutted – this is the last thing to do before plunging it into the hydraulic unit’s crater.

Assembling of the unit’s upper bracket has been completed. So, all the basic hydraulic unit’s equipment (the turbine and the generator) has been assembled; it is ready for the final stages of installation. In addition, 2 hydraulic units will be installed at the plant; the №2 hydroelectric unit is showing high readiness.
