Ramazan Abdulatipov attends meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee

Makhachkala, August 13, 2014. Daghestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov took part in the meeting of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, held on August 12, in the capital of Ingushetia, the press service of Daghestani Head and government’s administration informs.

Alexander Bortnikov, the director of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation chaired the sitting that brought together members of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC), the deputies, the Presidential Envoy to the North-Caucasus Federal District Sergey Melikov, the heads of the North Caucasian republics - Ramazan Abdulatipov, Teimuraz Mamsurov, Rashid Temrezov, Yuri Kokov, as well as the heads of law enforcement agencies and state bodies of the North Caucasian Federal District and the regional antiterrorist commissions.

The meeting participants discussed pressing issues related to the counter-terrorism situation in the North Caucasus Federal District and additional measures aimed at reducing support of bandit groups.

It was noted that bandits commonly used factors such as high levels of corruption, youth unemployment, the slow pace of solving social and economic problems to involve more young people in the illegal armed groups.

"To increase the effectiveness of preventing terrorism environment we should wider use the potential related and other close relations of persons of so-called" risk groups ", including those working in the local government. Of course, the members of antiterrorist commissions in the municipal administrations should act as initiators and conductors ", - Bortnikov said.

The Chairman of NAC pointed out that anti-terrorist activities had to be allocated from the regional budgets.
