North Caucasian "Mashuk-2016" Youth Forum hosts Day of Dagestan

Makhachkala, August 8, 2016. The Day of Dagestan started today, August 8, at the North Caucasian Youth Forum "Mashuk-2016". Traditionally, the specific Days, the regions present national traditions and pieces of folk art.

According to the deputy Director of the Republican Center for Folk Arts and Crafts under the Ministry for Tourism and Folk Arts RD Arsen Guseynov, on the Day of Dagestan everyone interested in Dagestan culture can get familiarized with the traditions and customs of local residents as well as to evaluate the pieces of folk crafts.

The Forum participants, thus, can watch the process of creation of the traditional woolen carpet “Tabasaran sumac” and the other eastern handmade carpets. "Besides, during the workshops, the Forum attendees will become familiarized with the pottering process, foundry basics and balhar ceramics manufacture peculiarities. Besides, they will have a unique opportunity to watch the Dagestani craftsmen engaged in artistic processing of metal and wood. The masters will exhibit their best examples of traditional cultural heritage", - Guseynov said.

Noteworhty, on this Day, the Forum participants can compete in national sports. Recall, the North Caucasian Youth Forum "Mashuk-2016" is the socio-educational project aimed at identifying and supporting the initiatives of active young people and project teams in economics, law, politics, journalism, science, innovation, information technology, civil society, arts and culture, volunteerism and healthy lifestyle.

The organizers of the Forum are the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of RF President across the North Caucasian Federal District, the Government of Stavropol Territory, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. The individuals aged 18 - 30 years, living on the territory of the North Caucasian Federal District can apply for participation in the Forum.
