Lev Kuztetsov discusses issues of socio-economic development at the regular session of the republican government

Makhachkala, August 14, 2014. The day before on August 13, the Russian minister for Affairs of the Northern Caucasus Lev Kuznetsov and his two deputies chaired a meeting on socio-economic development of the Republic of Daghestan in the Government House. The sitting was attended by Daghestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov, the members of Daghestan government, the envoys of Daghestani Head in the districts, the heads of regional executive bodies, various institutions and organizations.

"Intensive work is carried out nowadays, we visited a number of businesses and discussed many issues that we are concerned about. Today, the priority projects of the Republic of Daghestan have been demonstrated to Moscow guests. I hope that currently there is an understanding of how Daghestan lives and what kind of assistance the republic needs fr om part of the new ministry " - Ramazan Abdulatipov said, opening the meeting.

Another problem, pointed out by Daghestani Leader, is the low budgetary efficiency of the region. R.Abdulatipov designated several directions the development of which has been delayed for the lack of financing.

Lev Kuznetsov in his turn noted that Daghestan is a determining region on the socio-economic development across the Northern Caucasus.

"The republic has recently shown good growth rates, but the economy still stagnates demonstrating critical dynamics and falling behind compared to other regions of the North Caucasus Federal District and the whole of Russia. Obviously, we cannot realize everything quickly. There is an understanding between the republican leadership and the federal ministry, in turn, is ready to provide all possible assistance in the development of Daghestan and the North Caucasus as a whole." - the minister said.

The meeting participants addressed a number of other pressing issues.

Today, distinguished guests, accompanied by representatives of the republican leadership will visit the city of Derbent, wh ere they will get familiarized with preparations for the celebration of the Day of City.
