Makhachkala, July 27, 2016. On July 26, the Russian Federation minister for Affairs of Northern Caucasus Lev Kuznetsov and Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov visited the tourist and recreational complex "Matlas" located in Khunzakh district of Dagestan. Recall, the investors intend to construct a ski resort including an ecopark for children and an airport.

According to the Head of Dagestan, the launch of the project will increase tax revenues up to 600 million rubles to all budgetary levels, create approx. 1,200 new jobs and increase the gross regional product up to 1 billion rubles by 2020.

As a result of the inspection, Lev Kuznetsov highly appreciated the prospects of construction of the ski resort in Dagestan. The unique nature and the mild climate, the combination of sports, medical and cultural facilities will contribute to the successful development of the complex. Besides, as Kuznetsov noted, the advantage of "Matlas" resort is that it is all-season and can attract tourists all year round.

The total compex’ area is 200 hectares. There will be constructed a medical center, a SPA-center, some swimming pools, a conference center, and a restaurant with a view on the valley and waterfall. Around the complex, there will be some multi-use sports centers, a golf club and an equestrian center with stables and a riding hall.

The "Matlas" resort will become a center of “ethnic” tourism. There are more than 150 monuments of regional significance in the surrounding area, including Khunzakh fortress built by the Emperor Alexander II in 1867.

It should be noted that the overall resort's area makes 120 hectares. The construction of major facilities is scheduled to begin in spring 2017. Currently, the specialists are engaged in the construction of road infrastructure connecting the resort with the administrative centers of Dagestan and the Chechen Republic. The commissioning of the first facilities are intended for 2019; the rest ones will be put into operation in 2021. The total cost of the construction is RUR 20.4 billion. "Summa" group acts as a general investor of the project.
