Government of Dagestan discusses general aviation development issues

Makhachkala, September 3, 2015. Yesterday, September 2, the interdepartmental working group headed by deputy Prime Minister RD Magomed Isayev gathered to a sitting to focus on the general aviation development issues.

The deputy Prime Minister stated that currently the airport infrastructure, connecting the city and district centers of the republic, is in poor condition. "As a result of wear of airfield and the fleet of small aircrafts, the industry ceased to function. The scope of general aviation is extensive - agriculture, public health, tourism and recreation, the needs of the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Today it requires a comprehensive approach to solving the set of socially significant tasks. I believe that Dagestan has the best conditions for the development of domestic aviation"- Magomed Isayev said.

The discussion noted that at present does not provide any budgetary sources of finance sector - in order to restore the airports, as well as for the purchase of new aircraft. This general aviation is not allowed to be engaged in commercial activities, although it is possible that this obstacle will be eliminated at the legislative level.

Besides, the meeting considered the prospect of Dagestan regional carrier. Magomed Isayev reminded the audience that there is a mandate of the Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipova to establish a regional carrier that is to be performed.

In conclusion, Magomed Isayev instructed to submit proposals accompanied by estimates and the step by step realization of the plan with responsible agencies till September 10.
