Pyatigorsk, March 14, 2016. It is necessary to assist in the development of the effectively working small agricultural enterprises in the Northern Caucasus, the presidential envoy in the North Caucasian Federal District Sergey Melikov said. “It is necessary to conduct an audit, to streamline land relations, to conduct a study of small-scale farms and to help the local farmers to create effective cooperation for further successful development” – the top official noted.

Concerning Stavropol Territory, the presidential envoy called for state bodies to deal with the effective land owners and to take all the necessary measures to provide their further dynamic economic development. To achieve this, according to Melikov, some non-efficient land owners may be changed. "Do not to let the land idle, but feed people" – Melikov pointed out.

According to Melikov, at present the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is considering the possibility of establishing cooperatives. "I believe that the cooperation and association is more prospective" - Melikov said. "There may be offered some solutions by the Ministry of Agriculture after some time, but the main thing is not to cause any unjustified insults or attacks on our agriculture, no matter whether the company is small or big", - presidential envoy in the North Caucasian Federal District said.
