Dmitry Medvedev signs governmental decree "On urgent measures for accelerated development of Dagestan Republic"

Makhachkala, December 25, 2014.  Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a governmental decree "On urgent measures for accelerated development of Dagestan Republic", the press service of Dagestani Head and government’s administration reports.

The Prime Minister spoke about the decree in a telephone conversation with Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov noting that the decree had been prepared on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Commenting on the news, R. Abdulatipov said that the Russian government doesn’t often issue decrees like that for certain regions, which indicates special attention to Dagestan. This is no wonder – the republic has shown good positive dynamics of socio-economic development over the past two years. Dagestan is the country’s leader in economic growth rate and industrial production index growth, and it is the forth in tax collection rate.

Ramadan Abdulatipov thanked Dmitry Medvedev for his attention and assistance to Dagestan. Interestingly, the decree had been initiated by Dagestani Head who had reiterated the necessity of qualitative changes in economy and continuing the policy of acceleration and renovation adopted in 2013.

The decree "On urgent measures for accelerated development of Dagestan Republic" implies implementation of both national government programs and federal and ministries’ target programs including accelerated development of individual sectors like healthcare, education, and tourism. It also provides support for agricultural production and import substitution in agriculture for 2015-2016, as well as other issues critical to Dagestan.
