Daghestani delegation participates in events commemorating Heydar Aliyev’s 91st anniversary

Makhachkala, May 13, 2014. Daghestan government delegation arrived in Hachmaz, Azerbaijan, to participate in events commemorating national leader Heydar Aliyev’s 91st anniversary. The delegation headed by Plenipotentiary Representative of Daghestani Head in the South Territorial District Mussa-Efendi Velimuradov and the minister of national policy Alexei Gassanov included the deputy of Daghestan National Assembly Kamil Davdiev, the minister of press and information Aznaur Adzhiev, the head of department board of internal policy and territorial development of the head and government’s administration Alibek Aliyev, the head of Derbent region Kurban Kurbanov, the chairmen of National Assembly committees, deputies, and other authorites.

As part of the visit, the guests saw the sights of Hachmaz. First, guests were welcomed with bread and salt and sorbet in the Heydar Aliyev Park. Then, they took part in the ceremonial opening of the monument to commander and eminent statesman Djavanshir. After the ceremony, they laid flowers at the monument to the great leader of modern time - Heydar Aliyev - erected in the center of Hachmaz. Later, the Daghestan delegation visited the Aliyev Center to see photos reflecting different periods of Heydar Aliyev’s life and work. Daghestani guests presented a portrait of Heydar Aliyev made byUntsukul masters.

The guests also participated in the ceremonial opening of the Heydar Aliyev art gallery. At the ceremony, the head of Hachmaz region Shamseddin Hanbabaev, Daghestan minister of national policy Alexei Gassanov, and the head of Derbent region administration Kurban Kurbanov spoke about the warm relations between the two friendly nations. Peoples of Azerbaijan and Daghestan have always supported each other standing side by side through the toughest times.
