Daghestan Prime Minister visits Azerbaijan

Makhachkala, April 15, 2014. Earlier in the week, an official Daghestani delegation headed by Prime Minister Abdussamad Gamidov visited Azerbaijan. The delegation included Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Public Utilities Mussa Mussayev, Head of the Derbent region Kurban Kurbanov, and other officials.

The visit began with seeing the Honourable Burial Mall in Baku, where Abdussamad Gamidov laid a wreath at the grave of national leader Geydar Aliyev. Then, they laid flowers at the memorial to the died heroes at the Martyrs’ Alley in the Highland Park.

During the visit, Daghestani delegation saw the investment opportunities of Azerbaijan and visited the ultra-modern Sumgait industrial park producing plastic and metal pipes, solar panels, and equipment for the power, gas, and construction industries.

Abdussamad Gamidov also visited one of the largest tourist projects in Azerbaijan – the Shakhdag ski resort.

During his visit to Baku, Daghestan Prime Minister held talks with Azerbaijan President’s Plenipotentiary and Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammedov. They discussed Azerbaijan's participation in celebrating the 2,000th anniversary of Derbent.

During the talks, they defined the format of cooperation between Daghestani Government and Azerbaijan in reconstructing the city streets and building an Olympic complex there.
