Makhachkala, August 7, 2014. Deputy Prime Minister Sharip Sharipov chaired a governmental meeting to discuss water supply of aquaculture facilities and including them in the action plan of the federal target program "Improving effectiveness and developing fishery potential in 2015-2020".

Sharip Sharipov also highlighted the problem of designated use of water resources saying Daghestanis are extremely carelessly in consuming water, especially in the dry season. Because of this, fish works can’t fulfill their potential.

To solve the problem, participants decided to establish a working group of expert from the agriculture ministry, the Russian Federal Fisheries Agency and other relevant agencies to visit the fish works and determine the volume of water they need.

To help the fish works enter the action plan of the federal target program, they proposed to launch fish breeding and reclamation works on the Arakum and Lower Terek spawning and nursery waters and Agrakhan and Kizlyar bays, to create a fish hatchery producing select fertilized eggs and fish material on the basis of the Biryuzyak hatchery site of the "Zapkasprybvod" federal state budgetary institution, to reconstruct the Biryuzyak hatchery site, and to build a breeder workshop producing 30 million tiny fishes per year.
