Dagestanis approve the accession of Crimea to the Russian Federation

Makhachkala, March 19, 2014. On March 18, a public rally to support the referendum in the Crimea took place in Makhachkala. The first deputy Prime Minister of Daghestan Anatoly Karibov, the heads of republican ministries and departments, the representatives of political parties, public organizations, the parliamentary deputies, the representatives of trade unions and youth organizations, the public health and education specialists, more than 6 thousand people in total took part in the event.  

Keeping in hands the Russian flags and banners with the words CRIMEA, WELCOME HOME, CRIMEA, WE ARE WITH YOU, and NO FASCISM!, Daghestanis chanted: “Crimea! Russia!”.  

The speakers spoke about the decision of residents of Crimea peninsula to hold a referendum and the right to determine their own future. The rally participants pointed out that the referendum was legitimate.

"Crimea returned home, - the acting head of the executive committee of Daghestan regional branch of the political party "Edinaya Rossiya" Ulluby Erbolatov said. - Today is a     significant day and a real benefit for the Crimeans. They expressed their will to return and become the part of the Russian Federation". The decision of Crimean peninsula to join Russian Federation was met with three fold "Hurrah!"

The representatives of public associations, political parties and veteran organizations both agreed in one: Crimea is the Russian historical land. This is the second largest meeting being held by Daghestanis in support of the Crimeans. It should be noted that Daghestanis were not limited to only a moral support of Crimeans. An automobile train containing 80 tons of humanitarian goods for the residents of Crimea has arrived in Crimea.
