Dagestani Head takes part in session of State Council RF

Makhachkala, December 28, 2016. The Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov has taken part in the regular session of the State Council of the Russian Federation under the chairmanship of the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, the government press service informs.

The session attendees considered issues related to the ecological development of the Russian Federation in the interests of future generations. According to Vladimir Putin, the development of the national economy, improving its efficiency and the quality of people's life are inextricably linked with the solution of environmental problems.

The Russian leader recalled that the coming 2017 was declared as the Year of Ecology in the country, and the ecological direction was included into the Strategy of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation as a priority one. In addition, the President outlined the most pressing environmental problems that require urgent solving.

Commenting on results of the session, Ramazan Abdulatipov, in particular, noted that the environmental situation in the region in recent years displayed the improvement tendency. "The most important thing for Dagestan - is the environmental education and awareness. The announced Year of the Caspian Sea envisages our active participation in the improvement of the ecological state of the Caspian coast, ponds, rivers and lakes. We have already managed to attract some attention to the issues associated with the preservation of environment of protected areas and the Caspian Sea coast. There is progress in the fight against illegal exploitation of sand pits. We take measures on ecological rehabilitation of the lakes Ak-Gel and Southern Agrakhan. We have also come to grips with the conservation of the Samursky forest and the dune Sary-Kum", - the Head of the republic said.
