Makhachkala, December 10, 2015. On December 9, Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov attended the All-Russian Forum entitled "Inter-religious cooperation in counter- terrorism” held within the International Political Science Forum "Russian Caucasus".

As reported, the official event also brought together the representatives of the federal authorities, the legislators of different levels, heads of religious denominations, competent members of the Muslim, Orthodox and Jewish communities of Russia's regions, religious scholars, public figures and journalists.

The forum was initiated by the Committee on freedom of conscience and cooperation with religious organizations, together with Dagestan Muslim Spiritual Authority and Makhachkala diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

In his opening statement, Ramazan Abdulatipov, in particular, noted:

"The challenges provided to us today, it can be called the forces of reaction or ignorance, which are directed against our culture, civilization, religion and holy books. It is actually an attempt to destroy the spiritual, moral, social foundation established during thousands of years.

We should express our opinions and really pay attention to the organization of religious education, patriotic and public and state cooperation in a more fundamental way. Fortunately, we continue what our ancestors did and spiritual fathers.”

Ramazan Abdulatipov also reminded the words of the Russian President Vladimir Putin:

"When Putin came to the exhibition dedicated to Derbent in Moscow, he said "Derbent 2000" is a civilizational message of Russia to the world that people of different religions and cultures can live in peace and harmony for thousand years. "

The head of the Federal Agency for the Affairs of Nationalities Igor Barinov called the North Caucasus a special historical and cultural space where peoples, practicing different religions, had lived neighborly for centuries.

"Their collaboration led to the formation of inter-confessional and inter-ethnic relations based on mutual recognition of values. Even in the difficult 90s of the last century, when the Chechen Republic was in a war and virtually stopped the work of industrial enterprises, Dagestan Government had found the opportunity to support the Orthodox parishes.

We have recently conducted a public poll and found out that one of the greatest worries of the population is connected with the possibility of near and dear ones to be influenced by the extremism ideology. Taking into account this risk, we continue to oppose this alien ideology ", - Igor Barinov stated.

Summing up the results of the forum, Ramazan Abdulatipov expressed confidence that the extremism would be defeated not only in Dagestan and in Russia, but around the world.

The event was also attended by Andrey Titushkin, the head of the department for church-society relations, Ismail Berdyev, the chairman of the Coordinating Center forMuslims of the North Caucasus, Mufti of Karachay-Cherkessia, Kamil Samigullin, the mufti of Tatarstan, Shapig Pshihachev the executive director of the International Islamic Mission.
