Dagestani Head calls to develop small aviation

At the meeting with the Head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov, the representative of one of the largest Russian airlines in Dagestan Abdulla Angutayev confessed that aviation in the region used to be widely developed in past. There were over twenty airfields in the republic, which provided regular flights. Nothing is now left of this infrastructure. Only two airline companies are in operation, the rest exist on paper only.

Many tasks are performed by small aircrafts. It is agricultural work, extinguishing fires, emergency delivery of patients to hospitals etc. In the course of the meeting, both parties touched upon the issues of republic’s own production. Dagestan Kizlyar Electromechanical Plant produces the four-seat MAI-411 vehicle, which had already passed all tests.
