Dagestani appointed as Consul General of Russian Federation in Saudi Arabia

Makhachkala, March 1, 2016. A native of Dagestan Bagavudin Aliyev has been appointed as the Russian Federation Consul General in Saudi Arabia. It is known that the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov earlier signed a consular patent on credentials of the new Consul General.

The Head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdullatipov congratulated Bagavudin Aliyev on the appointment. The diplomat, in turn, expressed intention to focus on Dagestan "issues" in the Russian-Saudi relations when protecting the interests of Russia.

Recall Bagavudin Aliyev was born in the village of Aknada of Tsumadinski district. In 1981 he graduated from the Arabic Department of the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov. Later, Aliyev began working in the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

It is worth noting that Aliyev worked in Jeddah. In the period from 2005 to 2010 he was working as Consul of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since October 2012 the diplomat represented the Russian Foreign Ministry's office in Makhachkala.
